The Annual Fun Fourth Festival is recognized as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism society and an Outstanding Event by Celebration NC Foundation. The Fun Fourth Festival is produced by Grassroots Productions Limited. This local non-profit corporation focuses on charitable and educational activities which foster interest in local history and events in Guilford County. An advisory board of local business and civic leaders oversees the planning of each event for this 501(c)3 organization. The Fun Fourth Festival has been presented annually since 1975 as a community celebration of Independence Day for Guilford County and the Piedmont Triad. The festival is held in the Cultural District of Downtown Greensboro and at Grimsley High School.

Scrip

All food and beverages at the Kickoff Block Party and Fun Fourth Street Festival are purchased with scrip (tickets). Each ticket costs 50 cents and can be purchased in sheets of ten ($5.00) at Ticket Booths throughout the Festival area. There are no refunds or exchanges with the tickets. Most food and beverage items are priced from $2 - $8. Food and beverages at the Pops Concert & Fireworks at Grimsley High School are cash sales only.

Food & Beverage

Food Vendors will be selling everything from the traditional cotton candy, funnel cakes and hot dogs to festival favorites including roasted corn, spiced nuts, lemon slushies and frozen cheesecake on a stick. Throughout the Festival area there are soft drink and water stations staffed by local non-profits. If you purchase a cold beverage from them, the non-profit receives a portion of the proceeds.

Beer Garden

Cold Beer can be purchased and consumed only in the beer garden -- near Stage 1 at the intersection of Lindsay, Davie & Church Streets -- make sure you stop by and enjoy the music and the beer! Of course, you must be 21 or older to be served a beer. All ID's will be checked and you must have an ID bracelet to purchase beer.

Recycling

Grassroots Productions and the City of Greensboro encourage all Festival goers to recycle. Please use RECYCLING containers provided.

Food vending at Fun Fourth is by invitation only. If you are interested in being invited to vend at Fun Fourth, please fill out the Food Vendor Database Form. Submission of this form does not guarantee entry as a Festival vendor.
