The Annual Fun Fourth Festival is recognized as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism society and an Outstanding Event by Celebration NC Foundation. The Fun Fourth Festival is produced by Grassroots Productions Limited. This local non-profit corporation focuses on charitable and educational activities which foster interest in local history and events in Guilford County. An advisory board of local business and civic leaders oversees the planning of each event for this 501(c)3 organization. The Fun Fourth Festival has been presented annually since 1975 as a community celebration of Independence Day for Guilford County and the Piedmont Triad. The festival is held in the Cultural District of Downtown Greensboro and at Grimsley High School.

Best in Parade -- Rogue Brigade Drum Corps
Honorable Mention -- Community Theatre of Greensboro's Willy Wonka

The Fun Fourth Parade is July 3rd in downtown Greensboro, beginning at 9:30am. The Parade route begins at Greene and Bellemeade, proceeds south on Greene, east on Market, north on Church, ending at the Greensboro Children's Museum. The 36th Fun Fourth Festival is proud to highlight the 150-member Burlington Teen Tour Band!

All interested organizations, bands and individuals are invited to put on their patriotic best and join the parade. There is no entry fee to participate in the Fun Fourth Parade, but each unit must submit a Parade Application.

Prizes are awarded for parade participants in the categories of Most Patriotic and Best in Parade.
The judges' stand is at Greene and Market.
